Interested in learning more about Ranger Tugs and would love to get to see someone’s. Live in San Antonio. Considering a 29 or 31 as need a good option for a place for an 11 yr old to sleep. Evaluating the option to tow to different places vs getting a different wider option. Previous owner of 30’ Freedom sailboat in Rockport and considering moving over to the trawler world. Would also love to hear of any experiences boating around the ICWs of Texas if anyone has experienced that. Mostly Rockport/Port Aransas area has either sailors or sport fishing boats. Glad to see how active a forum Ranger Tugs has and excited to learn more about these boats.

Bill,

I live in the DFW area and have thoroughly enjoyed my 2016 R-27C since purchasing it in 2018. It fits my 'mission' perfectly and I love being able to tow it to different departure points. The tug can be used for anything a faster sport fishing boat can do, only at a little slower pace. It also provides all the comforts of home allowing you to stay out for multiple days rather than returning back home or to port. I can't help you with experience of using it along the GoM as I store and use my boat in the waters of SE Alaska.

My advice is to get very clear on what you want to do with the boat and then match the size and capability of your investment to meet that need.

Good luck.
