Just wondering if anyone has ever installed a mast and boom on one of the larger Rangers like the R31-S model to use for raising and lowering a dinghy or other gear and perhaps a stabilizing sail? Those used to be ubiquitous on older trawler yachts and give the boats a salty workboat appearance. But I don’t see them as often on newer models.

Something like this Nordic Tug 26? https://www.boattest.com/images-gallery ... beauty.jpg

Perhaps the roof is not structurally strong enough for that kind of stress and it would also require mounting spots on the front of the wheelhouse for the support shrouds. So maybe that would need to be something custom done at the factory. And of course would need to be removable for trailering.

My 31CB came with one. Factory install. Post from behind sink through roof, attached to top wall. looks strong.

wish I could post picture here, will add to my photos.

Bill46,

Use the g2Img button. It is really slow to load but it eventually works.

Here is your photo.
