I'm looking to install a magazine rack under the table on our 25sc, I saw someone on here had done that and thought it was a great idea. So my question is how to attach it. I don't know how the hull is constructed in his area so I'm not sure about running a screw through it.

Thanks

In an effort to not drill too many new holes in the boat, we elected to modify a magazine rack so it would sit at the navigator's feet. I had to unbolt the seat in order to slide it into place, but as a result it can't go flying about. There is a not-too-great photo in the 2Troopers photo album.

Good luck

Thanks, I'll look at that area also, more storage the better.

As long as you are only drilling/screwing into the liner vs the hull you should be fine. In most areas you can reach up to the top of the liner from below and slip a finger or two over the top to feel the gap distance between the liner and hull. Choose your screws to only be a 1/4 inch longer than the rack material and you should be fine.

Thanks for that Curt

3M VHB type tapes work very well. People attach solar panels to the exterior of their vans with this stuff. I have attached a teak book rack in our tug with it and it hasn’t missed a beat...fwiw.

On our R25SC, a magazine rack fits quite nicely on the wall of the head, on the starboard side as you come in the cabin from the cockpit.
(I would post an image here, if I could just push a button and do it...)
