Is there a way to send a pm and attach a pdf file?

The ability to include attachments, as I understand it, is limited to select forums and those who have admin privileges within them. PMs are stored on the board server, and a significant volume of attachments would likely create a storage problem.

But, I suggest you go to the members profile page and click E-Mail (Member Name) (instead of Send private message) - this will launch a mail form which will allow you to attach a file and send it directly to them.
