Auto pilot after market R25

I have owned my 2012 R 25 for about eight years. I’ve put 700 hours on her without auto pilot. However I am thinking it’s time for either a new boat or to retrofit mine with auto pilot. I’ve done a little bit of research and it appears the Garmin Reactor 40 is a good fit since all my navigation electronics are Garmin. Does anyone have any opinions on how compatible the system is with my boat? Also if I should attempt to install it myself or if the best advice would be to hire a professional. Any experience or advice you can contribute with respect to having gone through something similar would be appreciated.

I installed an autopilot on our 2008 R-25. The system was stand alone but that was before NMEA 2000. The directions were straight forward and was accomplished in a few hours. Now with NMEA 2000, most brands are compatible with each other. But you want to do your research first.
