Auto pilot pump gh10

I have a trip planned for April.
I'd like this fixed by then, but I don't live near water really, New Mexico.
However, if I have to, I'll buy the smartpump.
But, on autopilot my boat holds it course fine, off auto pilot, I'm slowly, but constantly turning to starboard.
There are NO dealers anywhere near me. However, if a valve kit will fix my issue, I'll do that, but not sure I can order hoses fast enough. Where do you all get hoses, Garmin, custom, etc?
If I order a smartpump, which I'm willing to do, if it promises better success.
Mine is a 2018 and I don't see 5 hoses going into my pump head. Is this what you are talking about? See picture.

I cannot post a picture from my gallery, it says, It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.

Your pictures are taken too close to get a good idea on the hoses. But it looks like you have 3 hoses in the top of the head, and 2 hoses out the side... 5 hoses. NOT the way Garmin recommends they be plumbed.

FWIW, my 2019 R31 has the standard autopilot pump, instead of the Smartpump. I’d have preferred the Smartpump, if for no other reason that it would have made for a plug and play installation of the rudder indicator I added. Adding that to the standard pump required an analog to digital adapter, at added expense (but not much added effort). I would have also preferred the Smartpump because it appears to be more reliable and functional for the bigger boats.

That said, my autopilot has worked flawlessly during the two years I have had the boat. I use it heavily, often setting the boat on a heading hold and using the remote to make the small adjustments necessary for longer cruises along the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Again, for what that’s worth.

Gini

I can concur 100% with Gini from our experience with about 180 hours on a 2019 C30. The autopilot / standard pump has performed perfectly. There is also no difficulty steering by hand (apart from the design issue of being somewhat harder to go to starboard).

I have considered proactively switching to the smart pump but hate to spend almost $3K on something that's not broken. We probably will have the boatyard add the check valves in our upcoming maintenance, however.
