It seems that I have to enter my full login info every time I try to access Tugnuts now. Even though I click "Automatically Log Me In..." every time! Even if I log out, and immediately log back in! Or if I just 'close the window' without logging out...

Frustrating, because my old eyes and fat fingers make it more difficult than it has to be on these little phones. I was always able to have it log in automatically before, with the occasional need to re-enter info...

For the record: I use Safari and Firefox... no difference. I don't have 'private' browsing on. Not sure about "cookies" or "brownies" or whatever those are... but that setting in my browsers hasn't changed in years. This is something new in Tugnuts' forum.

Hopefully the IT folks have an answer?

Same with Chrome. Seemed to start a week or so ago.

Also, we've noticed that we cannot edit or add new content in our Photo Album. If you try, it logs you off.

Add another safari user

Same here. Acts the same on iPad or iPhone.

Same. I noticed last week that Tugnuts was down for upgrade or maintenance one day, and the login problem started immediately after that. Maybe some new server-side setting or a now obsolete cookie or …?

I don't even have the buttons in my photo gallery to "add" or "remove". I can only view my photo gallery.

Same, including no buttons in the photo gallery, and I keep getting logged off. But I’m pretty sure I noticed that the Edit button (that allows you to correct a mistake in something you recently posted) was missing a couple days ago, and now it’s back. So maybe they’re improving the site and it’s a work in progress.

Yep, here to. Using an iPad.

Not working for me either. Tried Chrome and edge. Sent a message to the admin a few days ago. No reply.

I've posted this issue to the Moderator. 🙂

We are in the process of migrating Tugnuts to a new platform. A primary objective is to preserve all of the assets of our 7K+ members. Our highest priority is to keep the migration moving forward and our resources are being focused there.

There may be a few inconveniences along the way. Please use this thread to identify any others if you happen upon them.

Thanks for your patience.

Bruce

Thanks Bruce for responding. 🙂

And I want to add a personal thanks to Bruce who has been such a great moderator these many years. Whenever this website started to go off the rails (politics, whining, whining about politics, and general weirdness) he has managed to put it back on the tracks. Hats off to Bruce.

And I am very excited that RT is finally getting around to modernizing this site! Fingers crossed. This site is from the Pleistocene and desperately needs a makeover that matches the state of the art boats we mess around in.

Hello all,

My name is Ken, and I've been handling some changes behind the scenes that Bruce has been helping with and relaying information about.

Foremost, I apologize for the issues that are happening. There is something going on with PHP's native session handling, conflicting with phpBB's session handling. I did not spot it during testing, and that's 100% on me. I've looked into it, and resolving it doesn't appear to be a quick fix.

I've been directed (and agree) to press forward to get us completely upgraded to Xenforo and its Media Gallery ASAP. Any time I put into chasing down this session issue is time not put towards Xenforo. The plan is to have this completed by the end of this week. 😀

FYI, these problems do not happen with Xenforo,it runs a newer version of PHP and handles sessions differently.

I truly appreciate your patience with these issues, and I know it can be a huge inconvenience.

Thank you!
