Our autopilot is chronically losing GPS steering functionality. In the picture below you'll note "GPS steering" is not an option as described in the manual.

This has happened a couple times now and the only way I've found to fix it was to go through the calibration all over again. Any idea why this keeps happening or what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated. I hope people have been enjoying winter boating as much as we have this year.

You might want to see if there is a garmin update available.

Could you give us a little info on your configuration. Do you have one display or two? Do you use the internal antenna of the 7612 or have a remote antenna?

We had some challenges earlier on and it had to do with configuring all of the devices to look at one data source for gps data. In our case we configured everything to use the flybridge 7612 as the data source. If we didn't do that the craziest stuff would happen.

Hey Peter,

When was the last time you updated the Garmin software? I believe their most resent update was December 19th.

If you need a software update we can troubleshoot after it's installed.

Feel free to call me if that's easier as well.

Thanks,
-Kenny

I updated all the software, and what do you know, problem solved. I'll let you know if it acts up again.

thanks Kenny!
