Long story. Had a new Garmin Autopilot installed. The tech installing the system left before the dockside wizard was done. Tried to do the wizard. Testing the steering and when pressing the arrows on the GHC 50 the ram does not move in either direction. Not at the boat but plan to get to it early next week.

Question are there shut off valves between the smart pump and the ram?

If the autopilot was installed per the Garmin installation instructions by a certified technician, then there should be an inline shut off valve between the pump and the tees on all three hydraulic lines. If the whole system had been bled and these valves were then shut you should've received a "pump stall" error almost immediately upon trying the direction buttons.

The smart pump also has a bypass valve on the side of it used for bleeding/purging air from the system, and if this is still fully open the pump will not be able to build pressure properly to move the ram.

Thanks. The new Autopilot is a replacement for the GHC 10 which failed. Trying to find out if the original installation had shut off valves. Will check the pump. Thanks again for the information.
