For the last couple of years I have had intermittent GHC 10 display "Searching for Autopilot Controller".
Originally shutting off house power for a minute and turning back on, then turning on AP would find and work.
As it got worse I reseated CCU connectors, then ECU connectors.
Now nothing will find the controller.
CCU blinks green, ECU blinks red.
ECU cable may have been hit by cargo stored in lazerette.
My question today is where do the yellow wires from CCU and GHC get connected?
Also where is the alarm?
I can see a small yellow wire behind dash, but cannot trace and do not see splice.
How can I route a new cable from CCU to GHC? Know how to get from CCU to ECU.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Bill,

You'll have to get behind the Fridge in order to route the wire. I'd take the door and all of the hardware off first before pulling the fridge out. Once that's off you can remove the fridge. There are 4 mounting screws that hold the fridge in, once those are removed the fridge will slide out.

The ECU should have a green light, not red. Have you checked all of the connection to make sure they're tight?

When was the last time your software was updated? I've fixed more Garmin related issues with software updates than replacing parts.

Thanks,
-Kenny

Thanks Kenny.
Software all current and reloaded recently.
Reseated connections many times, used to fix.
Trying to confirm yellow wire connection now.
Next plan to buy another cable and run outside for test, that is why need to find yellow wire junction.
Might reloadsoftware again since it is easy.

Trust i’m Not out of line jumping in here but, updating Garmin hardware was discussed and mine, 2013 vintage, certainly could use an update. I’m somewhat old school as regards electronics but manage to muddle along with my various devices. Where or who do I contact to get a step by step update procedure? Am cruising around Ft Myers, FL at present.

Got it working today. Found yellow wire, connected ok.
Believe problem is connector on ECU from CCU.
Fiddling with it restored. Believe it was hit by cargo in lazerette.
Anyone know how to replace connector, and where to buy?
Found whole cable, but do not want to run from helm to near stern.

I'm not sure how small the wires are to solder together, but perhaps Garmin can shed light on it and perhaps buying a short cord and cutting it and slicing together will work.
