You may recall that I posted about removing my swim platform and putting a motor mount centered on stern.
I went to the bay yesterday and spent the night. (pretty cold). But I did get to play with outboard. Its a Yamaha 4 horse 4 stroke. Long shaft. It works wonderfully on the tug. At about full throttle the tug moves along at 5.5 MPH. And steering from the helm with wheel works really well. Steering from the stern with outboard motor also works well. Im very happy I did this. Nice thing about the Yamaha is that it has a tank built in. So I dont have to use an external tank.
Not having the swim platform is no big deal to me as I wouldnt use it much anyway. I did mount the ladder on stern as well. I will use that. Now that I have the back up motor I will never need it heh heh.
So nice being on upper Chesapeake this weekend.
