Our 2013 R27 is currently insured with Progressive Insurance. Navigation limits are 75 miles from the U.S. coast. The 150 mile option isn’t available for a single engine boat. We’re hoping to head to the Bahamas next year. For those who’ve been there, any recommendations for insurance coverage? GEICO does offer a rider but their policy is quite a bit higher than Progressive. Options?

Just got back from the Bahamas a couple of weeks ago. We are with Markel through Global Marine Insurance Agency. They have a Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats Package Endorsement that gives great latitude for navigation. Our Navigation limits are stated below.

"while the insured yacht is afloat no more than 75 miles offshore within the waters of the
Atlantic/Pacific Oceans or the Gulf of Mexico; within inland lakes, rivers and waterways of the
continental United States of America, Alaska, Hawaii or Canada."

Notice it says 75 miles offshore, not of the coast of the US.
