2022 R27OBLE: I’d like to purchase the Bluetooth gateway for the Balmar display. Does the factory pre wire for this, so that it can be plug and play? Is there a connector in the port cockpit lazarette?

Much to my delight I found that the BT gateway was already installed in my 2022 288. Take a look in the starboard lazerette for the gateway install on the house battery circuit. Download the Balmar app and it should discover it. Works great.

Unfortunately not in my 27 for whatever reason.

Balmar designed the system to be plug-and-play, so this should be pretty easy.

They refer to their communications network as SmartLink. There are two SmartLink ports on the shunt (which will be connected to the negative side of your house bank by a large cable) and two SmartLink ports on the back of the display. One of those ports on each device will be occupied by the cable that runs between them. You can plug the gateway into either of the remaining open ports, but Balmar prefers that it goes into the port on the display, probably because it will be closer to whatever device you'll use to monitor the system. The gateway installs with just that one plug and two screws or some double-sided tape.

If you don't have a gateway on your shunt, check the back of the display before you buy one.

There’s none on the shunt. I’m hoping for a response from RT before I pull anything apart.
thanks.
