To my boating/travel friends who have spent time in Barkley Sound, please let me know your list of must see/do's there.
I leave Monday for two weeks there in the Red Ranger and don't want to miss anything!!!
Thnx,

There are currently lots of Humpbacks putting on shows in Trevor Channel. Also, you should spend a night or two at the Port Alberni Yacht Club in Robber's Passage. Go into Bamfield for fuel or groceries and and take a walk to Brady's Beach. Pop in at Eagle Nook Resort for coffee in Vernon Bay. Cruise the broken group and the Pinkertons. If you venture inland to Kildonan, you can anchor in Snug Basin and possibly have the place all to your self. The problem with cruising there this time of year is a lot of morning fog which can be difficult to burn off and limits your scenic cruising time. Take advantage of mornings when there is no fog!

Thanks for the suggestion...and I thoroughly enjoyed my ten days there. Took the time to get to know both Ucluelet and Tofino before heading out to the Broken Group. Fog was a problem when crossing the sound from Bamfield to Ukee on my last day there.

Will plan a return trip in a year or two. But loved the remoteness and "specialness" of the area, and highly recommend it to others thinking about venturing there.
