When we at port, I typically turn off the batteries except for the "house" bank. Occasionally, I will also turn them off when at anchor as well. (Worried about grandkids, etc. playing with equipment when unattended.) Can anyone tell me if the charger will charge the batteries when the disconnect switch is in the off position?

On most boats the batteries will charge with the switches off. I have heard however, that some of the Ranger Tugs are wired differently than others. The only way to be sure is to use a volt meter on each bank with the switches off, and the battery charger on, to see if that bank is charging.

Yes it does at least on my r27. When stored all main switches are off and the charger works fine. Just make sure you have the mains selector set to shore and the breakers for battery charger and main on

Thank you all. I am pretty sure they are charging, but would like to be positive, so I will set the voltmeter on them this weekend! Be safe!
