New to me 2017 242SC and house batteries were new from dealer and dead now, shore power plugged in and showing 120 volts and battery breaker is on but not charging batteries, the charger shows 12 volts; something not turned on?

Ha, figured this one out, with shore power, ac main has to be on, duh, charging away

Still can’t get a reading on the battery DC volts meter above the breakers

Noticed the inverter red switch was on right above the batteries, not sure if that was draining batteries but turned it off to see if the house batteries hold a charge now

Is there a source for the pneumatic hatch closers?
Thx

Apparently the inverter power switch does indeed drain house batteries if left on, so, just checked and holding voltage now

Hi there,

Sorry for the troubles that you had with your charging system, but it looks like you have it under control now. And yes, if you leave the switch powered on it will eventually wear the batteries down. 😉

For the hatch struts, they are Newport Engineering and are part number SX100PSS-30

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf

Thank you Ralf, still can’t get a reading from the DC volts meter, the house meter works on shore power but nothing on DC meter

Sent you a p.m.

Hi, Just purchased a 2019 242SC and have the same question - No reading on the DC volt meter. I'm told the boat had a Generator when new but a recall removed the generator and replaced with the lithium package. Everything works as advertised but no reading from the 12V DC voltmeter indicator. Original owner said he never recalled ever having a 12V DC reading from this panel. Could the 12V DC volt meter have been part of the generator configuration and not applicable with the lithium package?
