I replaced the original set of batteries after 7 years with Centennial batteries from Battery Systems Seattle and used them for 1.5 years. Within the last 2 months1 house battery overheated, I removed it and 2 weeks later the 2nd house battery overheated. I took the set down to BSs and they replaced mine with a new Colonial set. I installed the set and turned the charger on and the read out was: abs, 14.4 V and 21.2 A
I was wondering if the charger is operating correctly?
Is there a battery temperature sensor installed on the charger?
What does the remote switch do?
Thanks, Paul Solie

What battery type did you replace them with? Incorrect connections, loose terminals, or installing the wrong battery type without updating the charger settings can all cause issues like this. First, what batteries did you install? What charger do you have in your boat (we have since changed chargers)?
