Any tips on where I should install the Prosafe 30 amp model GI are appreciated. I know that it should be as close as possible to the shore power inlet and before the ELCI. It would be nice to have it where I could test it if necessary and in an out of the way location so our Portuguese Water Dog puppy Mojo can’t get at it easily! I would have chosen this as an option if it was available...I thought we had one already.

I installed mine on the inside of the hull in the compartment that houses the battery switches. The back side of the shore power inlets are right there. I mounted the unit just below those inlets using screws long enough for good holding but not long enough to penetrate the hull. Easy Peasy....at least in the crazy world of working on a boat.

Thank you Boatagain! This location is pretty much where I was thinking but wanted to check and see if I was missing an even easier install. I appreciate the insight.

I have added a photo to my album showing the Galvanic Isolator install location. It is in the cockpit helm station cabinet. A couple of suggestions are to have another person hold the GI while you mark the drill holes, use heat shrink connectors to make a secure, professional looking job, and then cable tie the wire harnesses to keep the loose wires all together and secure. The green ground inlet wires are 10 gauge on our CW30 (which is probably standard for most boats). I did buy a cable tie gun which is a big help in getting the cable ties nice and tight in a confined area. There may be a better mounting location but this location is the one that made the most sense to me.
