Best way to replace anchor light

my anchior light isnt working - might it need adjustment? or if dead, how to replace? 2020 CB31, what's the right unit to replace?

I replaced mine just recently as it was crushed when marina staff climbed on floating roof to clear snow. I have a 2020 R29 and the replacement light is Aqua Signal 25000-7 All-Round Anchor Navigation Light - White, Small. Available from West Marine but better price at Amazon. This is a complete assembly, with bulb, and easy to install. Possibly your problem is the bulb? If so, you can just purchase a replacement bulb, including LED ones. I suggest you open up the housing, and check for 12v at the bulb leads. If 12v present, buy a bulb. If not, check voltage at wires. If present consider replacing complete light assembly. If not, then most likely a fuse or dash switch problem.

I need to swap my anchor light with an LED bulb, but with a flybridge boat it’s so far Up I don’t know how to solve. Because of my enclosure, I don’t think I can drop the mast. :/ need a tall ladder and a calm day at the dock I suppose. 🙂

Before you go to replace it, make sure you have power at the bulb contacts and the contacts are clean. If they check out it is the bulb. If it is not LED get an LED bulb.

You may want to check the two wiring lugs too. I misdiagnosed mine as a faulty bulb less than 6 months after switching to LED. As it turned out, the two wires were not seated tightly. The two screws felt tight but I was able to turn them more until the wiring lugs stopped moving. Solved my problem and now, I have a spare LED anchor bulb.

My mast head light burned out, so I replaced it with an led bulb. Took me awhile to find it. It is 44mm end to end. You can find it on Amazon.

Be sure LED does not interfere with radio. I found out the hard way.
