I’m replacing my Morningstar Remote Meter RM-1 with a Victron mppt Control for my new 100/30 Smart solar mppt controller on my 31. The hole drilled in the teak panel by the cave area is about 3” in diameter for the RM-1 meter but the Victron mppt control display is smaller. Has anyone found a bezel to mount the Victron display while covering the area of the RM-1?

You might try this:

https://www.zerodeclination.com/https/w ... pter-plate

It's slightly larger than the size of the Morningstar controller, but better is better right?

Or go full tilt and put in a GX Touch 70 and Cerbo, or Ekrano. However doing so you might then be all too inclined to add a smartshunt, ruuvi tags, and other misc components to really keep tabs on everything.

Thanks Full O Fish, that looks like it would work. They don’t show the plate dimensions so I sent them an email to clarify.I could probably make a wood one but that’s a last resort.

Just get a piece of thin starboard cut to size of choice.

in case its of interest. I just left the RM installed.
I use the Bluetooth app when using victron anyway so I can see the data wherever I am.

another thought in case you go all the way with Victron is look at the Cerbo displays I think they might be similar to the RM size?

I just used a 1/4” thick piece of black starboard for my cover.
Did not go with the Victron Energy BMV-712 this time but used a SmartShunt instead. I had the 712 in my R-25 and the Smart Shunt seems to provide all the same data without having to look into the cave of our C-28 to see it.
I like having all the info from the Bluetooth controller, Bluetooth shunt and Bluetooth battery sensors all on one app on my phone.

I’m liking the $2 sample plastic 4x4 piece which is the correct outer size and the price is right. I mainly bought the mppt control because I didn’t want a non working display on the boat. At $51 it’s a cheap option. I also have a Smartshunt so will get all my data from the app. Thanks everyone for the advice.

We happened to have a smallish square of finished teak for this purpose. Looks nice!

Nice and great idea. I went with watson1987's idea and got the sample plastic pieces from Tap Plastics. I bought two in case I messed one up. It turned out nice.
