Looks like we got a big one on the hook!

Time to reel in your best photo for this month’s forum-wide photo contest! Our theme this month is “Biggest Catch.” What’s the biggest catch you've ever reeled in? Maybe it was a king crab, or a huge tuna. Or maybe you caught something rare, like a blue lobster! Whether it's the heaviest, highest number, or rarest snag, submit a photo of the biggest catch of your life!

To enter the contest, reply to this post with your photo, boat model, and a description about what's going on to accompany it. One photo/entry per user. The Photo Contest will be open until 8:00 AM PST on 10/27/2025. After all the submissions have been collected, factory personnel will vote on the winner.

One winner for each brand will be selected (Ranger Tugs, Cutwater, or Solara) and will win a pair of branded jackets and get their winning photo proudly displayed on he Tugnuts homepage and Fluid Motion social media accounts!

Please Note:
This thread is for contest submissions only; replies which do not submit a picture for the contest will be moderated and promptly deleted. Once voting has started, you are not allowed to edit your entry.

I'll kick off this contest...

RT27-OB. In August 2020, Channel Surfing was just 2 months old with 101 hours on the engine.

Puget Sound Spot Prawns, West side of Spieden Island (near Roche Harbor and Reid Harbor). 60 minute soak in 400 ft of water: First pot came up with 302 prawns, the second pot came up with 247 prawns. The 3rd pot... well... we only had 4 licenses onboard (Limit is 80 prawns per person).

We kept our 320 (only the big ones!) threw 229 overboard, and just rail dumped the contents of the 3rd pot without counting.

Not the biggest, I posted a 200+ lbs. Bluefin and won a couple awesome Cutwater jackets with that. So, justi posting for 'bragging rights' and love for fish pix. This is my PB (personal best) salmon...42 lbs. That's Nate (Dr. Nate Matua/NOAA) who, for the record is 6'7" (I'm only 6'2")...I know that I should have Danny DeVito in my fish pix.IMG_6612 2.jpeg

This is not a huge fish but it was the first one landed on Amber Waves. The first one is always a good memory and I thank Mike and Sara on Reel Salty Bliss for taking us out during the Roche Rendezvous and showing us the ropes!!!!

The Best Catch from the boat is not always a Fish. Some of us have other uses for our Ranger Tugs, be it Cruising, Socializing, Exploring, or as a Platform Boat. In my case as a retired Sail Boat Racer, who is unable to give up Boating I use my Ranger Tug 27 as a Race Committee Platform several times a month. So my Best Catch is a Thank You from the Yacht Club Member in 2022 naming me "Sailor of the Year" with this nice Trophy, and a Hand Held Radio. Of all the trophies I have won over the years this one is special and has a permanent spot on LOOKAME

It is especially rewarding to take people on fishing trips to land their biggest fish. Here is another Tugnut with her biggest catch in the Gulf Islands, a lingcod, on my R-23.

Our son took his sister and I 30 miles out of Newport OR to fish for Albacore Tuna in his R27- We came home with 5, but this one was a monster - Soon after this photo, the pole broke into 3 pieces. Loren tried to hand line it in, and the line also broke. It is the biggest fish we NEVER CAUGHT!! And so much fun in a faster boat than our R29CB - Avellana

“Kiss the fish”! While not exactly the very biggest fish caught on our Solara S-310 SB, Reel Salty Bliss, it was the most fun and rewarding experience of the season. We had the privilege of captaining our boat for the annual “Salmon for Soldiers” event. We took 4 fishermen out for the day representing active duty, veteran, and/or spouse. Each person was able to experience catching their own coho and we were able to provide a bit of gratitude for the sacrifices made by these heroes.

This isn’t the biggest salmon I’ve ever caught, but it’s the biggest SHE ever caught, because it was also the first salmon she’s ever caught! Beautiful fish caught during the Rendezvous at Roche and the smile says it all (on her, not the fish). Caught on our 2024 R-25OB, Out of Office. IMG_4318.jpeg

Drooling over some of those west coast fish. Put my buddy on this nice striper on the first trip east of Nantucket with my new (to me) R27. Feel spoiled fishing and having hot lunches...ThomasStriper.jpg

Cutwater 288LE Sea Horse off the kelp beds in San Diego. That I would send a cute picture of our first fish over the rail....
