Bilge failure

Curious my Bilge failed and the my tug filled with water. My Question is the engine compartment filled with rain water covering the lower engine, Is that a problem? All the water is out but the engine won’t start. Thinking the battery ran down for the bulge continually running. Any suggestions. Thanks

The bilge pump shouldn't be powered off of the starting battery. Supposed to be powered from the house battery. Check for water in the oil. Check the bottom of your oil fill cap for moisture (means water is in there). Check your starting and house batteries voltage to see if they're charged. If you start the engine, run it just for about 10 seconds, stop and check the oil again to make sure you still don't have water in the oil (will look like milkshake).
