I took delivery of a new 2015 R-27 at the end of April. The float switch for the aft bilge pump appears to be actually "floating" in the bilge. It doesn't appear that it was ever secured when it was installed at the factory! The pump comes on for a few seconds, then stops and this cycle repeats. To drain the bilge, I have to run the pump using the breaker at the helm panel. I don't see how or where the switch is supposed to be secured. This doesn't seem like something I should have to deal with! Please advise ASAP.

Hello Tom,

The float switch actually slides onto the housing of the bilge pump and doesn't require any screws. It is quite possible it came off of the housing and simply needs reattached. If you need help doing this, I am confident your dealer could assist. I am quite confident if you bring it to your dealers attention that they can help put it back on without any tools. Should be a very simple repair.

Thanks Tom,

Andrew Custis

I concur with Andrew. Had the same issue. Very easy to slip it back on to the pump.

Along the same line, how in the world do you reach the forward bilge pump/"float" switch/high water alarm sensor on a 29S? I don't know anyone with long enough arms...

It is a little difficult to reach I actually come in from the port side of the engine and slide my arms down along the front of the engine to reach these Items.
