Hello all , Our ‘Folie á Deux’2026 project includes a CB Bimini. So to help us decide , á preference survey. Canvas makers are suggesting 3 bow or 4 bow , collapsible and fold down Or collapsible and standup structure. Also 7.5 ft of coverage or 9 ft that (that mayinclude some shading of helm station). Would love to hear your experience while at port and while underway . Thank you in advance !

We built a 4-bow bimini for our R-29 CB. I think we went with 84" which gave us enough length to provide shade from the rear seat to partially across the helm station when the sun is high. Our intent was to have it collapse into a 45 degree reclined position but our shed isn't tall enough so we spun it around and have it collapse forward so that it stores flat with a support on the helm station.

My wife had the brilliant idea to include zippers on all four sides so that we can zip in sunscreens (Phifertex) to provide additional sun protection when the sun is lower in the sky. Sometimes we'll use them while underway but they are fantastic once we're anchored or at the dock. It really cuts down the heat an makes the CB an even better place to hang out.
