It had to happen some time. A heavy paper towel made its way into the head bowl and now there is no flush. The water addition is working but when I flush I just see a swirl but no vacuum. Where do I start? I cannot see how to get to the inner workings of the head. The boat seems to be just a one piece molding.

What is the make and model of your head? Did you try a plunger in reverse? IOW, depress the plunger, seal in place and pull UP. If you use it normally (pushing DOWN) it may push the paper clog further downstream which may not be desirable. It might be stuck in the joker valve just outside the toilet proper. If you can get to that it might be worth checking. In any event, get nitrile gloves, and lots of paper towels to soak up any mess in the head and below. HTH, GF

The head is a Tecma Easyfit. How do I get to the mechanicals?

You will have to remove the toilet and remove the motor in order to gain access to remove the paper towel. I say remove the toilet because it will be hard to re-install the motor properly without the toilet removed. Take it from experience... (motor install, not the paper jam part) 😀

Hi 2savage,

Fishhead is right. You will need to remove the toilet and approach getting to the paper towel that way. The plunger attempt may work, but not if the paper towel has already started to work its way through the macerator. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf
