Boat cover for storing on the hard

We have a new 28 Cutwater & plan on pulling in November & storing on the trailer over the winter (we are snow birds). Anyone know of a canvas maker who already has the pattern? Or of a cover maker who makes one that can be used for a 28 Cutwater? We’ve searched online & are unable to find. Thanks!

Tarp always worked for me. A little over $100.00 and replace every 3 years.

I have seen some tarps advertised as boat tarps online. They come in various sizes. Check Tarpsplus.com. They seem to have some great ones and are quite affordable.

King Marine Canvas in Seattle does a lot of canvas work for Ranger Tugs and I am pretty sure makes a cover.

This topic may help. Fisher Canvas has made a winter cover for a C28. NautiTug has a photo of the caves installed on his boat. If I stored outside this would be my choice.

Thanks Brian. I had a small issue where the bow where the beach swim ladder was causing pooling in the cover over the winter (not explaining it great) But I let Fischer know and he came and picked it up and says he adjusted the cover so this winter it won't be an issue.

But over all for the price vs shrink wrapping I have been very happy. Also has a nice zipper door and has a greenhouse effect so even on the coldest days during the winter I was able to work inside the boat in comfort.

I have a Cutwater 28. I built a PVC “Whale Bone” rack of 2-1/2” electrical gray PVC pipe to hold my cover off the sharp edges on the top and to stop the puddling of the snow and water. I then use a standard RV cover. Much less expensive than a custom cover. It works well and has easy access zippers, but a tarp would word as well. Tarps or canvas covers are a much better solution than shrink wrapping IMHO. I tried shrink wrapping my old 24 ft cabin cruiser for two Colorado winters a long time ago and ended up with black mold problems. I had pounds of descant in the boat's cabin at the start of winter and it worked great until it was all gone. I know some folks in Colorado devised a shrink wrap method with a way to get back inside the cabin to refresh the descant. But I'd still avoid using shrink wrap - getting rid of the black mold was no fun! We leave Our Journey in the driveway exposed to the mild Southern Oregon winters on shore power with heaters and dehumidifiers running in the cabin and engine bay.
