We are in the market for a R31 and will most likely purchase it in the PNW and then ship it to Santa Barbara
Where we are located. Does anyone have advice or experience in this type of transport? We will not have a trailer and will almost certainly use a commercial boat transport company.?
Any and all ideas would be very much appreciated

I’m sure you will get other suggestions but here’s two:
Contact the factory and find out who they use for shipping boats to dealers across the country.
Hire a captain to bring the boat down for you. I’m told going “downhill” from WA to CA is a lot easier to do than the reverse.
PS: You also might want to consider SevenStar Yacht Transport that runs dry dock transport on their ships for yachts between Victoria BC and Ensenada on a somewhat regular basis.

I have used Uship several times. You can place your transfer requirements on thier website and shippers bid on doing the move. Please note, you will get some bids from not-so-great shippers. However, looking at thier ratings and googling them helps seperate the wheat from the chaf.

It is no cost to you to post and you do not have to book.

We used Alex Rivera from Janal Transports to move our R31, and were very pleased with his driving skill and care for the boat.
His direct phone number is (406) 894-0595.

We used Blue Earth to transport our R31 from WA to CA last year. After getting the run around from another transport company, I spoke with Jess at Blue Earth and the service was prompt and professional and they are very familiar with the transportation of Ranger Tugs. We were very happy with their transport and suggest you give them a call.

I also used Blue Earth last year, for Olympia WA to Chicago, IL. Highly recommended. They were also quite a bit cheaper than the second quote I got.
