I need to have my Ranger 27 moved from N. Michigan to Florida (near Sarasota) late Spring or early Summer. Don't have a trailer. Can anyone recommend a reliable transport outfit for the job? I imagine someone located in MI, FL or the mid-West would make most sense from a cost viewpoint.

I would call Cory Grace he delivers most of the Ranger Tugs from the factory

Thanks. I'll follow up but I think he's located in WA state. If so, using him for transport between MI and FL may not make economic sense.

He is always moving boats all over. I would call to check. I'm sure if he couldn't he could point you to someone
Good luck

Hi Pete,

Cory moved my boat last October from NW Washington to San Diego. I planned on him picking up my boat this week and returning Cascadia to WA.

As it turned out Cory called to say that Jeff, whom he sometimes uses, would be coming to get my boat, which he did. Jeff drove my boat back north and was going to take two Ranger Tugs to FL.

So, Cory will try to find someone to haul your Ranger if he is busy. Drivers try to set up round trips, so that is the best scenario. Hopefully something will work out for you and you can get on the schedule 🙂

Best wishes,

Tim moved my boat from FL to RI about one month ago. I highly recommend him. He moves boats all over the country.
Who ever you use make sure they are properly insured and check with your own insurance company as to what they may require for the transport.

I will vouch for both Sharp Yachts [Cory Gracy] and Tim Ginalski [TG Transport] as they both haul our stuff regularly . Both great guys, do things right and have the proper insurance and skills and equip .
Ill see Tim Wed. with a new boat from Eastern [27' Islander]for the Gulfport Ms. show we are doing , and send him back to Rhode Island with a 27 Ranger Tug we just completed a deal on . I'll probably see Cory with our new R 31 Sedan about the same time !
Good people !
Marc

Thanks everyone, for the suggestions. I'll try to contact Corey and Tim on Monday.

Just curious, but about how much would it cost to transport an R29 from Los Angeles to Florida (Atlantic side).

Mike

Probably a bit more than $2.00 a mile as there are permits involved . 2 bucks is a good figure for an 8'6" boat .
Marc

Agree with Marc - I am having our R29 moved 700 miles and it's closer to 2.85 per mile from a reputable transport company (insurance included).

Oucheeee... so from say Anacortes, WA to San Diego, CA this would run at around $4,700. Is there a Sales Tax charged on top of this I wonder if the mover is based in a state that imposes a Sales Tax ?

You might try uship.com. You list your move and shippers bid on it. I just had my 21ec shipped from Maryland to Florida for $1,400 on the shipper's trailer. I had a dozen or so bidders and chose the shipper with experience shipping Ranger Tugs. It was insured and delivered on time in good condition. I was very pleased with the whole process.
