Hello,

My boat is 2021 R25 so it's pretty new. What's the benefit of wrapping the boat for the winter. My marina was a little slow in wrapping it which they did just this morning. We had a little snow which I brushed off prior to being wrapped. And if snow didn't melt away prior to wrapping would mold develop once it's wrapped? I was considering throwing a tarp over it. I take care of the boat want it to look nice. It's out in rain anyway during the summer but would there be any damage if left unwrapped for the winter?

Thanks!

I am south of you in Cape May Court House, NJ and have an R29 Sedan.

I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer to your question but…based on my experience, I always put a tarp on our boat for the winter. It protects against the elements especially rain/snow that turns into ice. We have two circulating fans in the cabin that slightly warm the air which reduces the chances of mold. We have an inboard so we put a heater in the engine room.

It’s a little work but for me, well worth the effort!

Mike

No issues or mold developed previous years but was wrapped prior to the snow and below freezing temps except for this year. I have dehumidifier bags inside. I guess will wait till April.

Thanks

sounds like you will be fine. do as others with the interior. check on it regularly during the winter.
