NWCruising.net has retired their site. It is too bad as I used it for approx calculations on a regular basis. The domain is for sale if anyone is interested.

That’s very sad news! Darn! I used that website planning out every cruise. There was an enormous amount of distance data between marinas and marine parks all over the US PNW and the Canadian PNW. I’m missing it already!

Wonder if the data comes with the domain? I’ve never done it but doesn’t seem like it would take much to keep it up.

I belong to several forums and they are free but maintained by donations. That valuable of info I would be willing to make a donation to keep a site up and running.

You can still find it on the Wayback Machine: web.archive.org
Once there, enter nwcruising.net, then look at the calendar for the last viable image that was taken which seems to be Aug 9, 2020. The website then appears to be functional. Cruising distances haven’t changed since 2020 so old information is not an issue.

Seems like this website is back! I hope it sticks around... I find it very useful.

I just emailed him this morning about it not knowing it was back up!

Site sold and I have the distances from Anacortes up but when I try to start from another port it won’t allow me to return to the main page. Hope the new owner fixes it. I would be willing to make a donation to keep the site up and running the way it was before.

Great tip about the Wayback Machine! This morning I couldn't access the site, but was able to save .pdf files of my preferred ports of call. The nwcruising.net tables are an invaluable tool for trip and fuel-consumption planning. I would have happily made a donation to keep the site live.
