Andrew:

I'd like to know the exact specs for the bolt mechanism that holds the rudder and its control arm together for MY2010 R25. Thanks... 🙂

I have this notion that if that bolts breaks loose I would be in a heap of trouble. 🙁

That is a stainless steel 3/8" diameter by 1-3/4" Length. Any thread type would work if you have the matching nut.

Could I buy that bolt&nut from Ranger if I stop by one day (Kent or Monroe factory?) ?

Any large hardware, tractor supply store, or boat chandler, is likely to have SS bolts in that size... Grainger will sell you one on line...
A carbon steel bolt will work in a pinch until you can replace the missing SS bolt...
A grade 8 Allen head bolt would do admirably as an emergency backup - and would be my choice as a low cost emergency bolt...

Lowes and Home Depot have common sizes of SS nuts and bolts

I am not at my boat now but I worked on this earlier in year while installing rudder position indicator & I thought mine were 1/2" X 13 bolt rather than 3/8". It included a S/S lock washer & second nut as a "jam nut". Lowes & Home Depot sell the exact parts as I had.
