My R25 is going to need new bottom paint this year. Have any of you had any good results with any certain brand. It is not cheap and I don't want to waste my money. I would like to use something that's a good value even if it's high in cost.

Unless you completely remove the old bottom paint, and I mean completely, you must use a new paint that is compatible with old. Otherwise, the new paint won't bond.

There is a lot of information on the internet, just google "best bottom paint". From my research Interlux Micron Extra @ $235/gal. or Interlux Trinidad @ $255/gal. seem to be pretty good. I have no personal experience and other members are sure to chime in.. More coats apparently mean more year's protection and I think you have about 181 s.f. figuring L X W X 0.85 = 1 coat. ( I got that off the internet, so you might check)

We have always used Trinidad with great success.

In the other posting about bottom paint I mentioned Trinidad paint. I have it on my R21EC and it's been in use for a year. Holding up very well. I've been using it for several years, m/b five years, on both sail and power boats. I recommend it. 😀
