We have a new 25 SC. I'm contemplating having bow cushions made by a local canvas shop. Thoughts/ Suggestions?
Thanks.

check out Barry Cohen's R27 Yolo. he had some made for bow seating.

My grand-kids love sitting on the bow when we are underway. They never complain about needing cushions. I suppose if some adults sat on the bow, they might want to have some cushions. As long as just the kids sit up front, I am not going to worry about it. If adults sit up there, I might consider it. Additional cushions equal additional cost, additional work pre and post cruise, and additional storage for the cushions. An alternative could be some type IV throwable cushions - color matched to your hull, of course.

Hear on the Hudson River having anyone, especially children, riding on the bow of a boat while underway is a sure way to get a violation ticket which will cost about $200. Of corse the specially designed bow rider boats are excluded.

Check out Sport-a-Seats: http://www.sportaseat.com/

We used those in the cockpit of the trimaran we used to have - very comfortable. West Marine sells a similar, but not as substantial, style of folding/locking portable seat.

Best wishes,
Jim B.
