I have a 2013 R-29.
Upon inspection of my failed bow thruster I found that the compartment containing the thruster was half filled with water. I believe this water is from the anchor line compartment above. There appears to be no drain hole in the thruster compartment. Is there any reason to not drill a hole in the lower part of that compartment so that water can drain to the bilge?

Spoze to be a drain there.
Drools down the side of the bow - port side I think - might have to go look.
If not on your boat, then a weep hole to the bilge is needed.
A call to the factory might help/

My forward thruster compartment was bone dry and dusty, yet the thruster brushes had rust and one was frozen, so intermittent operation. Very frustrating until the whole unit was pulled and inspected. Imtra had a used brush holder and I replaced the bearings with sealed bearing, cleaned the commentator and connectors, works like a charm now.
