Has anyone here had to replace a broken shear pin on their bow thruster? I have a Ranger R23 with a broken shear pin. It should be accessible via the v-berth and done with the boat in the water, correct? I have the replacement shear pin. Thanks in advance.

If it's the shear pin, then yes it's serviceable through the forward Hatch in the V berth. The Lewmar 110 is a poorly designed unit. My entire gearbox failed due to water intrusion so I had to pull the boat.

Yes, I changed mine with the boat in the water. Hopefully, you can determine the cause of the pin breaking.

I have an R31 and had to replace the sheer pin after sucking a line into the thruster. No problem doing it in the water. Access on the R31 is easier than for the stern thruster, once you get everything out (the bolsters, the bed, etc).
