Bow Thruster Slenoid

Has anyone purchased a Sidepower bow thruster solenoid from
anyone other than the manufacturer?

I doubt Sidepower is the manufacturer of the solenoid... I used this https://www.evdrives.com/product_p/sol-dc88s.htm for the stern thruster, I think it is the same. At a third the price I'd give them a call to check it out.

BTW I have a theory that the solenoid contacts burn up because both thrusters use the same battery. If you were to use both thrusters simultaneously the battery voltage drops low enough that the solenoid drops out, when it drops out the decreased load allows the voltage to increase again providing enough voltage to pick the solenoid again. This cycling (chattering) of the solenoid causes a it's premature death.

I bought a relay for my rear thruster at defender, maybe they also sell the solenoid.
