We just discovered that we are unable to attach a zinc to the bow thruster due to damaged threads.
How critical is it to the function of the bow thruster? We are in British Columbia salt water.
We have a R29 2010.

The lack of a zinc will not itself impede the box thruster's operation. HOWEVER, over time WITHOUT the zinc the bow thruster metal pieces will become compromised and eaten away leading to a costly repair. I would look into having the comprised thread component replaced/repaired when you can before the salt water does more damage.

Contact the thruster manufacturer .(Side Power)?

Thanks everyone for your replies and great feedback. They are all appreciated!!

We have the same model and year. They ended up tapping out the front thruster to a larger size bolt. Fortunately the stainless bolt can survive more then one zine. However the regular zinc anode for this thruster must be slightly drilled out before installation. Pretty frustrating for a diver if they don't know what's going on.
