Subject: Brass port hole rubber gasket/seal issue
On my 2016 R-21EC there are 4 brass port holes. Each one has an embedded rubber seal that runs around the port hole in a channel. The seal protrudes a small amount such that when the port hole is closed and tightened down it squeezes against the rubber seal and thus makes for a water tight connection.
My grandkids love to play with the port holes and of course open and close them at times. When they do, the rubber seal invariably pops out of its channel. I've found it's a PITA to reseat. Is there a solution out there to prevent this happening I wonder ? Have others encountered the same issue ?
I'm thinking of applying a small amount of vaseline on the seal to ease the effort of reseating it. Is this a wise/good solution ? What about using talcum powder ?
Thanks.... 🙂
