Buying a 2019 Cutwater C24

Sorry I should have said it is a 2020 new boat with 6 year Yamaha warranty. Purchased from Pocket Yachts, John Peterson a first class agent. I guess I should post this in the correct manner. Thanks for you input!

Get a survey even if it is a new boat. Surveyor may find items that are wrong w/ the tug that you may not see right away.

I have to agree with Katmat. Before the boat makes the 6 hour trip away from the dealership and you take delivery. I would still pay a marine surveyor to go over the boat to confirm everything is complete and working properly. The engine warranty is great and for the most part it is rare to have engine issues. It is more likely to have build issues no matter who the manufacture is. This is not a insult to Fluid Motion. I would advise this no matter what boat manufacturer it is. The 24' Cutwater has a lot of amenities, deck drains, hull drains, electrical systems, plumbing, water, head ,fuel systems, thru hull fittings and the list goes on. The factory and dealer have check sheets that should be filled out after every component is inspected proved functioning or fixed if not proven. This is not always throughly checked. Theses check sheets should be gone over with a component person before the boat leaves the dealership to insure everything is completed and works. Being 6 hours away for warranty work would be an issue. Even the factory representatives of Fluid motion have posted on Tugnuts that the boat should remain at or near the dealership for a few days during the commissioning and delivery process to take care of any warranty issues that need to be fixed. It is best to have a complete delivery by yourself or a component person before leaving the dealership.

THANK YOU THANK YOU...great suggestion. I am confident that the sales agent John Peterson at Pocket Yachts in New Bern, NC will go over the boat before delivering. He is a well respected surveyor but....another unbiased look would be good.

Moved post to correct topic ‘buying a 2020 242 Coupe’

Well I should update the post , the dealer made me a better deal on a 2020 C24 so I went for it and the boat is being built this week and delivered next week. After reading some posts about the fading of the darker colors I decided to go with the Sand color which should be easy to keep clean. And thank you for the comments about the autopilot I ordered it with everything except generator and air. It is so helpful to get information from actual owners. Looking forward to the delivery.
