I've never bought a boat trailer before. Are there exact specifications for the R21 that I need to give to a trailer manufacturer, or just weight and length? Thanks. Thought I'd find this in a search, but perhaps I'm the only one who doesn't already know this stuff. 🙂

Fortunately when I purchased my 21 EC it came with a trailer. The freedom of having a trailer to take your boat just about anywhere is a wonderful thing. Having said this, there's more to getting the right trailer than weight, length and width. Do you want a single or tandem axel? What type of braking system? The trailer rails have to be set to the correct measurements so your boat is supported correctly. If I knew all the measurements I would gladly share them with you but alas I don't. I would suggest contacting a trailer or Ranger tug dealer to discuss what options are available. It may take you a while to get the right trailer but once you do your cruising grounds are unlimited.

Cheers!

The trailer the factory sells for a R-21 EC is a single axle E-Z Loader.
I'd suggest calling the factory or E-Z Loader for info.
It's difficult to get the needed specs on the hull configuration and weight distribution for a trailer to be custom built.

I just bought a 2008 R21EC that came without a trailer. I got an all aluminum, tandem axle trailer with bunks, not rollers. I bought it from Trailer Depot of Sarasota FL, for $3600 all up- taxes fees, etc. I hauled out the boat as the trailer was delivered then brought it back to the dealer where he lifted the boat and adjusted the balance and set up all the bunks and winch.

They did a great job setting it up. I then towed it home to Maine- about 1600 miles, behind my Toyota Tacoma pickup. It was not a fast trip- I ran about 60 with no apparent strain on the truck.
