C-242 roof rails vs. C-24

Any reason why the windshield "eyebrow" from the C-24 wasn't continued on the C-242? The lack of this means the roof rails/hand grips are much shorter on the C-242 which creates a gap between the roof grip and the bow rail making the transition to the bow a bit risky.
