After a number of PM's asking the best way to remove the step I thought I would post this topic. I have a number of photos showing the removal and the access to the engine. This summer I had issues with the turbo hose blowing off, loss of boost and leaking oil. Access to this area was needed quickly for continual inspection. I decided to change the factories poor design. I removed the L brackets and installed stainless steel bolt latches and Velcro. This makes for quick easy access to the starboard side of the engine. In less then a minute I have access to the Raw water pump, belts, crankcase ventilation filter, turbo hose connections, motor mounts, coolant reservoir, forward bilge pump. I have posted additional photo's in my album.
