Hi,

It's time for me to replace the bonding (stern) zinc on my C-28. The parts spread sheet that I have lists a ZHC-5R. I don't find anything with that number on boatzincs.com. It's a little unusual in that it's mounted to the stern with three bolts. Do I have the wrong part number? Anyone else have a better number?

I just dealt with this two days ago on my c28. Honestly was wondering if some one else had installed the three bolts and not the factory, apparently not... I went to west marine and LFS here in anchorage and they didn't have anything stock that would fit nor had they seen the three bolt style before. I picked up a square plate of zinc with no holes and drilled it my self only take about 5 minutes to do. But with a quick good I found the the Z-10 anode from https://harboranodes.com/hull-anodes-bolt-on. I did not cross check the measurements but it looks like the Z-10 could work.

That was the clue I needed. Thank you Tristen. It comes up on Boatzincs.com as

Z-10 Bayliner Three Slot Zinc Anode

Dave Livingston, the engineer who designed the Cutwater and other Fluid motion boats, also did work for Bayliner and other manufacturers. This is probably a carry over from those designs.

I'm going to do some measurements on my boat but I'm virtually positive this is the right zinc. Thanks again.

Ah that would answer that question then. Glad I could help.
