My rear cockpit table on my C-28 has minor water damage. I would like to lightly sand it and coats it with a better waterproof product. Problem is I don't know what was used to seal it originally. Does anyone know? Was it a water based or (probably not) an oil based sealer? Makes a difference as to what product will bond with it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I lightly sanded my table and then flood poured epoxy over it, quite a simple process and costs about $30 for the glue off amazon. Did the same to the teak and holly under the stern deck overhang. (See photo album) It creates a great finish, the equivalent of 50 coats of varnish.

In fact I seem to be doing this treatment to a lot of things, so much so that my wife thinks if she stands still long enough she will end up with a high gloss costing 😀
