C 28 Documenttion

I'm looking to buy a used Cutwater 28. Boats I've looked at have never been documented.
Can anyone tell me if this boat even qualifies for documentation. I know its long enough but
am not sure it meets the CG "5 gross ton" requirement.

I had our C28 documented with no problems. I used a company to do it (Annapolis Yacht Documentation) and there was never any question about the size of the boat not being large enough.

I documented mine six years ago. I completed the paperwork myself and had no issues.

Documented my 2015 C-28 myself, easy process. Download the forms, fill them out in a complete and detailed way. Make sure to supply all of the requested documents. Then, be patient. DHS has quite a backlog, but you can check progress online.

My C-28 is documented. Glad to have it as USCG renewal is a piece of cake. New Jersey registration renewals not so much.

We had our R25SC documented and it is shorter with the same beam as the C28. Should be no problem.
