Has anyone else weighed their C-28 on its' trlr? I used a local DOT scale (closed at night but operational) and after diconnecting the truck my C-28 + trlr weighs 12,260 lbs!!! I had already removed all my personnal items from the boat (no ding or kicker either) and it had @ 75 gals fuel and @ 10 gals water. trlr GVWR 11,000lbs.

😱 😱 😱 😱 😱

1750-2000 of that is your trailer....

I am aware that the trlr is SUPPOSED to weigh @ 1860 lbs =/-. Still GVWR of trlr is 11,000 lbs. Andrew says they are aware of this issue with all boat and trlr combinations and are looking into a fix with EZ Ldrd to correct it. Maybe 16 inch tires ld range E and then supension and axle ratings.

saw your post on the R29 thread... I've never pulled 10K+ on a tandem. IMO that's getting into triple axle trailer weight, just plain balances and rides better, a bit less maneuverable though. Everyone has their comfort zone.

I'm guessing the stated dry weight of our boats is without engine or options or (less likely) they were never actually weighed when they were prototyped. Fuel and water will be around 1K... they probably need to change their glossies to reflect what these things actually weigh.

My R-27 is about 10,000 pounds with half fuel, 17 gallons of water and full supplies. The trailer is about 1,400 ponds,. So all in I am 11,400 pounds.

From Sept.2011 post:

We towed Willie's Tug into a Flying J yesterday and used the scales to get an accurate weight of our rig. Our gross combined vehicle weight is 19,620#. Our truck weighs 8380# by itself, giving us a net weight of 11,240# for the boat and trailer. The tongue weight of the trailer is 1260#.

I do not remember how much fuel and water we had, but it must have been similar to yours.

Hello Herb,

Thats good info. Thanks.

I'm curious, what is the GVWR of the trailer under your R27?

Hi David, I cannot tell you right now as both trailer and boat are still in Washington, and I am in Texas. I am sure that I was very close to max GVWR, but how close I do not remember. I never felt the trailer was overloaded though.

Thanks everyone foor your reply's. Please weigh your boat and trlr and check your trlr GVWR. and let me/Andrew know. I think it would be better to have a good cross section of ACTUAL combinations so RT/CW can decide how to correct the problems. I am TRUELY impressed that RT/CW and EZ Ldrd are giving this issure such a conserted effort!!! Glad I am dealing with them than the other mfgr's of boats I have owned!! 😀

Thanks
Dave

Thanks to you Tug's but still wondering if any Cuts (28's) have weighed their rigs?
