C-28 Rudder Zincs

I did a search through the TN's threads but didn't quite find the answer, so, our new (2019) C-28 is now up for bottom paint and I was wondering why there is no zincs installed on the rudder. I read that it is bonded to other underwater items that do have zincs, but what with this harsh salt water here (mid-Gulf Florida), and somewhat electrically leaky neighboring boats and docks, I thought that it might be appropriate to add a pancake zinc to the rudder.

Any reason not to drill a hole through the lower edge of the bronze rudder and install a zinc?

PS: I'll be doing a photo post on the installation of St. Croix traditional davits on the C-28, plus removing condensation on the bow spotlight lens', soon.

I drilled a hole and added a clamshell rudder zinc to our R27 rudder. Simple mod. No issues.

I also have a 2019 C28. The only zinc on it was on the end of the shaft. I added collar zincs to the SS swim platform supports. They are bonded to the rest of the running gear. So far the zincs are doing what they are suppose to do - deteriorating nicely.

Although the rudder is bonded I believe the reason it doesn't have a zinc is due to the fact it is made of bronze. Bronze, having a higher copper content, if I remember my high school chemistry class, and I probably don't, has a high resistance to corrosion and I believe places it higher on the galvanic noble metal chart.
I hope someone with a much better understanding of the noble metals than I will chime in on this discussion. That’s why I enjoy this forum, I learn things I forgot years ago.
