I have a 2024 C-288c, which I store on an uncovered boat lift. Whenever it rains in the direction of the salon door, I have water intrusion. The boat comes with a seal on the inside frame of the door, and I have added a thin seal on the door itself, but it still leaking. If I add a thicker seal, the door will not close. I also added a covering over 75% of the door bottom (picture anttached), but the water is still getting in. Anyone else have this problem?

I had this from day one.. 2022 C-288.. the dealer could not repair despite multiple attempts. The water would then drain to port and soak the pad in the 'cave'. Stained the wood under the breaker panel and supported mold growth under the pad. My 'fix' after 18 months was to place a drain on the deck directly under the door, with a tube that terminates in the bilge.... still leaks, but mitigated damage... some times need to choose your battles... as love the boat and dealer...

Hi JunieBird, thanks for the response. I just checked my “cave” and see no moisture or mold. Perhaps my boat sits with a slight list to starboard (and I raised the port side another degree or two). Did the dealer attempt to seal the door better? When I asked my local CW rep, he knew nothing about the leak and recommended adding the second seal… Would you mind posting a picture of the drain you installed? I think that’s a definite solution! Thanks again.

Rvollmer99, the dealer removed the full door, twice, place a thicker, and second, seal. The back of the cabin is not straight such that when the door frame is screwed to the opening, the frame flexes. The door lock compresses the seal in the middle of the door but not at the top. our boat had a slight list to port such that the wood staining occurred in the cave- your panel under the stove is a mess! Fluid motions is aware of the issue but has no real solutions. Hence the drain that I put in. Works like a charm when on the lift//trailer. We will put a towel down if we are out and have guests in the cave.
