My 2016 C-30 CB has a 3-position switch for checking battery voltage, I assume this is on most boats. Position 1 is start battery I assume, 2 is house, and 3 is thrusters. Position 1 and 2 both show proper voltage, but position 3 is not registering any voltage. Thrusters are both working fine. Is there some trick to get this position to show voltage, or is there some issue that would cause it to not show any voltage?

On my boat, the order is house, engine, thrusters.

First thing I would do is take a multi-meter and check each battery individually.

Check to ensure the battery switch for thrusters is in the on position. Zero volts on the thrusters could indicate a blown fuse. If the thruster battery shows voltage and you see zero volts at meter it could be a fuse. Could also be the lead to the voltage meter got disconnected.

You should get other suggestions from the group.

Thanks Martin, I heard the same via email from Ivan at RT. I checked the panel and that fuse is just not there... 🙂 Either it blew and the previous owner didn't replace, or something else... in any case I didn't have any 5 amp fuses in my spares, so ordered some...
