I have a C30-CB, and wondering if the angled stay tube that is used for raising and lowering the radar / rear seat assembly is required? I'd like to add a second solar panel to my cockpit overhang potentially, and that stay is very much in the way. Adding the second panel wound require me to turn them the long way forward/aft. Due to my enclosure, I will never lower the radar arch so i'm wondering if this can be removed?

bumping this back up...anyone have any thoughts?

Hi dbsea,

Yes, that back stay is required to help hold the mast up when deployed. It needs to be clipped in on the aft side of the cockpit overhang for stability. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf

Thanks Ralf, makes sense. Looking for ways to increase solar capacity on the overhang, but difficult with that back stay in the way 🙂
